Places to Use Polyurethane Foam

There are so many locations and surfaces that can benefit from polyjacking:

  • Basements
  • Driveways
  • Garages
  • Parking Lots
  • Patios
  • Pool Decks
  • Sidewalks
  • Warehouse Floors

The polyfoam can lift all kinds of concrete slabs, regardless of whether they are residential or commercial. The process is easy and quick, compared with other lifting options. The polyurethane foam is strong and can lift different types of concrete surfaces.

Steps for a Successful Polyjacking Project

The basics of a successful polyjacking project are relatively simple. This is one of the many reasons that contractors and property owners like to use polyjacking for their concrete repairs.

lasting concrete solutions

The first step in the process is to clean the concrete surface. The contractor will remove dust and debris from the slab, making sure the area is ready to be repaired.

Next, the concrete will be prepped. This involves the contractor determining where the holes for the foam injection need to be. The lifting professionals will mark and drill the holes where they will be the most effective. The holes are much smaller than those used in mudjacking, usually a 1/2″ to 3/4″ in diameter. Mudjacking holes can be 2-3″ wide.

After the slab is ready, the polyjacking experts begin injecting the polyurethane foam beneath the slab. The foam will begin to expand, lifting and sealing the concrete. As the foam is injected, the installers will monitor the concrete level, raising it to within a tenth of an inch of the desired height.

Once the slab is at the desired height, the technicians will remove any extra foam and then patch the holes. It takes about 15 minutes for the foam to set and the repaired slab can then be used.

Strong and Stable Slabs

A concrete slab that is raised with polyurethane foam should remain level for a long time. The foam is water-resistant so it won’t erode like the mud slurry used in mudjacking. In addition, the foam creates a waterproof seal on the underside of the slab. Cracks are closed and water can no longer cause any damage to the surface. The foam is much lighter than the slurry, so once the foam condenses any loose soil, it won’t cause the slab to sink under the weight of the muddy slurry.

The process doesn’t require heavy equipment, so the surrounding area won’t be trampled and the area won’t be cluttered with vehicles and equipment. Once the process is done you can go back to work or using the surface within a few minutes, so the interruption to your day will be minimal.
